Tendon
Tendon is the new name for the range of dynamic and static ropes developed specifically for the climbing market by the long-established Czech Republic rope maker Lanex. All Tendon ropes offer water and abrasion resistance as standard ‘Standard Treatment’. Optionally, Tendon ropes are available in ‘Complete Shield’ versions. This feature is unique to Tendon ropes under the DuPont™ fabric protector licence for Teflon® nanotechnology. The yarns of sheath and core are impregnated with Teflon for additional protection against water and grit intrusion. The ‘Protect Shield’ version has the Teflon applied to the sheath only. The Tendon SBS braiding system is used on certain ropes whereby every strand of the sheath is braided individually, not as a pair which is normal. This creates ropes which are more wear-resistant and smoother to handle. Midpoint marking is standard on most Single Ropes (30-80m length). Special ‘Tendon Compact’ system is used for terminating the rope ends. Core and sheath are interconnected as one to prevent sheath slip.
